Entry fees and payouts will start tonight.

Payout structure will be based on this...

Nope. Presumably he's checking the results first. My best was 11th, worst 100th so we'll see if I broke even - hopefully better. I think I had about 16 entered instead of the usual 30 odd.

Yes, at this time you can enter any horse of any age. The age thing may change at some point - you wouldn't normally be riding an under 2 year old let alone competing in cutting.

To enter, use the left side panel, "Schedule" under "Events".

Generally the Appaloosa has been doing the best at this event but I have been having modest success with Arabians.

You must watch you dollars very carefully as a Basic. Note - Amateurs events are free, Pro events have an entry fee which you must be prepared to lose! Most are $50 but some are more - beware!

Welcome and good luck!

Has anyone seen a payout yet? Looking at the table I should've placed in the money but, nothing!

I got payments for the 7th 8th and 9th but nothing on the 10th and I didn't enter anyone after that - otherwise occupied, not given up - yet.

I've been receiving payouts since they were started. It all depends on the amount of entries and your placing. You need to place fairly high to see any payouts. I will say that the payouts are substantial.

That's what I thought Sage. Well I got a couple of new babes who might be able to break even anyway, just gotta get names for'em and do the entries. Gonna do that soon - really (lol).

I've been getting my payouts just finehappy :) And as mentioned, you have to place relatively high to get any money back thowink ;) Love it and the payouts are great!

Thanks Jeff, now on to a ranking system for cutting!

I called Jeff and asked him why we where using the poker payout structure in stead of the one the NCHA Uses.

This is their structure
# Entries Monies paid
3 ...................................1
4-7 ...................................2
8-12 ...................................3
13-17 ...................................4
18-23 ...................................5
24-29 ...................................6
30-35 ...................................7
36-41 ...................................8
42-47 ...................................9
48-53 .................................10
54 & up .................................11

Any class over 55 horses pays out 11 places. with the current payout under 60 horses pays out 6 places. I think that if more places are payed out more people might want to do cutting.

Example
October 2011 Ozark Open Pro entires 123

Placings Poker payout NCHA payout
1st $1,722.00 $1,230.00
2nd $1,045.50 $830.25
3rd $645.75 $738.00
4th $507.38 $676.50
5th $436.65 $553.50
6th $369.00 $492.00
7th $307.50 $430.50
8th $252.15 $369.00
9th $172.20 $307.50
10th $138.38 $276.75
11th $98.40 $246.00
12th $86.10

The payouts for the two are less but the payouts for the lower placing horses are higher. I think he should change it to the NCHA.

What do you think?

Yes.

I too was somewhat surprized by the PokerParty thing, but what do I know. I admit I did not examine it too closely - I figured I'd wait and see.

Using a real cutting horse breakdown in a simulation makes a lot more sense. If it distributes the awards more broadly, then more the better.

Is there a delay in doing the payouts? My colt won last night and there wasn't any payouts given. The entry fee came out just fine.

Yes that looks better... I do not have a top conterner and have not entered that my times However if we where to go by breeds on most shows ( ei qh only paints only or the like ) and a couple times a month go with a huge open all breed show for the big bucks !! I think more people would enter the horses .... The Appy's have cutting with a strong hold.....

just my thoughts
